The long-awaited core expression from the Lochlea distillery has finally arrived stateside!
John Campbell’s masterpiece! Our Barley is the distillery’s ongoing core Single Malt expression, which sits alongside side their seasonal limited editions. The Master Blender has carefully honed this recipe, and with a combination of Bourbon, Sherry, and STR Casks there is a whole new level of depth and complexity to the final whisky.
Oloroso Sherry Butts: Delivered straight from Jerez, Spain, these Oloroso Sherry Butts present flavors of fruit Bon Bons, marmalade, and macadamia nuts.
STR Barriques: Delivered straight from Spain, these ‘Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred’ Barriques impart peppery spice and rye bread notes.
First-Fill Bourbon Barrels: Delivered straight from Loretto, Kentucky, these fresh First-Fill Bourbon Barrels help to impart golden syrup and cream soda flavors.
Nose: Pear syrup, fruit Bon Bons, warm cut grass, marmalade.
Palate: Golden syrup, pepper, Rye bread, macadamia nuts, cream soda.
Finish: Long finish with a lasting orange beeswax note.
Bottled at 46% abv.

50ml Lochlea ‘Our Barley’ single malt whisky
25ml salted honey gomme* (using Blackthorn Salt)
20ml fresh lime juice
200ml Fever-Tree ginger ale
Slice of lime
Blackthorn Salt flakes
*Make the gomme with 3 parts honey to 1 part boiling water. Stir well and add salt to taste.
1) Fill a highball glass with ice
2) Add the whisky, lime juice, and honey gomme
3) Top with ginger ale and stir
4) Garnish with a slice of fresh lime and a sprinkle of salt
